2021 MITx Philosophy Award Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the MITx Philosophy Award.
Jake North
Course: 24.09x Minds and Machines
Jake is a high school junior who is fascinated by the intersection of philosophy and computer science. He enjoys collaborating with his ethics, AI, and robotics teams, playing piano, learning guitar, and hiking with his dog. He gives back by teaching and mentoring students as well as volunteering with a non-profit that provides books and refurbishes libraries for underserved communities. Jake is grateful to Alex Byrne, David Balcarras, and the entire MITx team for offering these amazing courses and he hopes to apply the techniques of philosophical inquiry to present-day problems facing our society.
Shreya Mogulothu
Course: 24.118x Paradox and Infinity
Shreya likes thinking about computation and logic, and adventuring in nearly any concept she happens to come across. She is a senior at WW-P North, and primarily studies computer science and math. In her free time she likes to read, listen to music, and play basketball (not all at the same time). This course pushed the boundaries of her mind to try and make sense of new and absurd situations, and for that she is grateful.
Herminio Chanona
Course: 24.02x Moral Problems and the Good Life
