Sam Berstler joined the faculty in 2021. She earned her PhD from Yale in 2019 and then spent spent two years as a postdoc at Princeton. She works at the intersection of philosophy of language, ethics, and social philosophy. She has a particular interest in the structure of conversational pretense.
