Matthias Michel joined the faculty in fall 2024. His main interests are in philosophy of cognitive science, philosophy of mind and perception, and philosophy of science (with interests in the philosophy of measurement and philosophy of psychiatry). Most of his recent work focuses on methodological and foundational issues in the scientific study of consciousness.
